How Much Do You Charge?

It is impossible to answer this question without knowing all that is required for your specific return. Our fees start off with the Basic Federal Return being $150.00; A Deluxe Return with itemized deductions start off being $175.00 and Self Employment Sole Proprietor returns start at $200.00 Our fees come with one free state but if an additional state is needed the cost is an extra $50 per state.

What do I need to bring to a Tax Appointment?

We are a primarily virtual tax firm. We have limited in person appointments. We ask you upload your documents to our client portal at https://leaandassociates.taxdome.com/login. We need copies of your and your spouse’s identification and any wage or tax statements you receive throughout the year such as 1099, W-2.

How long does it take to get my taxes finished?

If all information is received in a timely manner you will get your taxes finished in 48-72 hours.

How long does it take to get my refund?

Once your return is successfully submitted and accepted it can take anywhere from 14-21 days to receive your refund. You can go to https://www.irs.gov/refunds to see the status of your federal refund or go to your local state’s Department of Revenue to check the status of your state refund.

What is the best way to communicate with my preparer?

The best way to communicate with your preparer is to use the chat function inside of the client portal at https://leaandassociates.taxdome.com/login. We can also be reached on the business line at 803-792-1304.

Do You E-file?

Yes, all prior year (one year before) and current tax returns are e-filed and the e-file fee is included in the price for tax preparation.

Do You Offer “Rapid Refunds"?

We do have the option for you to deduct your tax preparation fees from your refund for a $39.95 processing fee (paid directly to the bank), however we do not do refund advances.

When is My Return Filed?

We transmit your return when the return is full completed and approved for transmission all contracts are signed and all invoices are paid or arrangements for payments have been made.

Can I get an Electronic Copy of My Return?

Before your return is transmitted you will receive a read only (cannot file) copy of the return for approval. Once approval is made and the return is successfully transmitted you can send us an email and we will email you a copy of your return.

How long should I keep Tax Records?

The IRS can audit back three years so it is recommend that you keep records for up to five years.

What should I do if I receive a notice from the IRS or my State’s Department of Revenue?

Get the notice to us as soon as possible. Your tax refund filing comes with tax plus protection where you have $1,000,000 tax audit defense, identity theft restoration, and interpretation and guidance.

Can I just drop off or mail in my tax information?

We are a primarily virtual tax preparation firm. Although we do some in person appointments you will be required to create a profile on our client portal to sign your engagement letter, applicable tax return documents, and pay your invoice.

What if I have a balance due and cannot pay it in full?

There are many options available such as installment agreements, pay by credit cards, and offer in compromise. The most important thing to do is to file so you won’t incur any penalties and then if needed payment arrangements can be made.

Can you file returns for all 50 states?
